Dr. Maximilian Wittmer was born in Munich, where he completed his financial apprenticeship. He studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and majored in biotech and environmental technologies. Subsequently, he studied Engineering Ecology at the Technische Universität München (TUM), amongst others with the major waste water treatment. After that he completed his academic career in being a scientific assistant for three years at the centre of life and food sciences of the TUM in Weihenstephan. His research was focused on the natural abundance of stable isotopes. During this time, he spent a long time in China and Mongolia. In 2010, he received his PhD from the TUM.

Dr. Maximilian Wittmer has profound knowledge in waste water and solid waste treatment, in renewable energy usage, as well as in sewage process engineering. Based on his academic background, he further acquired special knowledge in mass spectrometry and elemental analysis.

Since 2013 Dr. Maximilian Wittmer supports the partnership GROSSE • SCHUMACHER • KNAUER • von HIRSCHHAUSEN as patent attorney.
